The Midway Experience: 90 Years on the St. Johns River
Before there were airboat tours, there was a fish camp. Before there was a highway, this was the halfway point between Orlando and the beach — which is how we got our name. Today, Airboat Rides at Midway is Central Florida’s original airboat tour, and we’re still on the same stretch of river where it all started in the 1930s.
What Makes Us Different
Coast Guard Certification
Every captain is a licensed U.S. Coast Guard Master, and our whole airboat fleet is Coast Guard inspected and certified. You’re in trained, credentialed hands.
Our Own Dock
No roadside pickups or public boat ramps. We’ve had our own permanent dock on the St. Johns River since the 1930s — a real place, with A/C, restrooms, and parking.
Safety
Custom-built boats, stadium seating, and two-way headsets keep you secure and connected to your guide the whole ride. Wild Florida, zero worries.

Inside the gift shop, you’ll meet Baby, our 13-foot Burmese python, and our resident birds — Pecos, Romeo, and Coco. Meeting them is part of the visit, not a separate stop.

You can wait for your airboat in our air-conditioned gift shop where we offer refreshments, souvenirs, and clean restrooms! No port-o-potties here!
